Ignite 1 a great success

the-crowd-by-dugsong1

Thanks to everyone who came out to see Ignite 1, we had over 200 people in attendance.  You could feel the energy level all the participants brought into the event, and the talks were all outstanding.  Our 14 speakers clearly cared about their topics and did a fantastic job.  Thanks again to the Neutral Zone and all our organizing volunteers for making this night possible.

The event was discussed on mlive.com and by Ed Vielmetti.

If you have photos you’d like to share, tag them with ignitea2 on Flickr.

We’ll try to get some of the video up shortly, if you missed the event or the streaming. In the meantime, we’ll have to be content with perhaps the most memorable quote of the evening: “Near-space chocolate is awesome”.

Ignite 1 Call for Speakers

Enlighten us, but make it quick.

Ignite is an ongoing series of speedy presentations.  Any topic, 1 speaker, 5 minutes, 20 slides, rotating every 15 seconds.  Ignite events are happening all over the world, and this is Ann Arbor’s first.  Other Ignites have seen talks on topics ranging from How to Buy a Car, to Hacking Chocolate, to The 6 Hour Startup.

If you are interested in giving an Ignite talk, please email organizer@igniteannarbor.org or add your name to this wiki page.  An advisory committee is being assembled to adjudicate the speaking list for variety and interest.

We can’t wait to hear what you’ve got to say.
