Ignite Ann Arbor 10 will be at 7pm on Friday Nov 13th, 2015 at Robertson (formerly Blau) Auditorium in the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan! Thank you to the Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies for providing this fantastic venue for Ignite.
Ignite talks are 5 minute talks where the speaker gets 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds. We think that breeds creativity, and we like to see talks on a very wide range of topics, as you can see by looking at some of the previous talks in the tabs above.
If you had five minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to show their answers. We consider geekery to equal passion, so we’re looking for food geeks, tech geeks, business geeks, music geeks, art geeks, history geeks, etc to come and share their stories.
The program is selected from the applicants by the Ignite organizers based on the submitted talk titles and descriptions. We’re looking for people we don’t know, people who don’t look like us, don’t act like us, don’t think like us. We’re looking for you!
Application Deadline is 11:59pm, October 19
Speaker Selection by October 21
Slide submission in 20-page PDF deadline: Nov 4
Runthroughs with Washtenaw Toastmasters: around wkend of Nov 7-8
Ignite 10 : 7pm Friday November 13th
We are a non-profit professional theatre with a long history and recent turmoil here in Ann Arbor. We can speak to our recent history and our upcoming season we’ve just won several awards including from the International Center for Women Playwrights.
You are welcome to apply, only applications we receive through the official form will be considered.
Although the website is a little dated, I am currently a Post-Doctoral Research in the Aerospace Engineering department at UM researching bio-inspired morphing for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Essentially, I derive inspiration from the gliding flight of birds and leverage new technologies, such as smart materials, to regain some of the advantages that are absent in current aircraft that use conventional, hinged flaps. The topic is fairly intuitive, but the multidisciplinary challenges lead to non-intuitive results.
OR!
This “Reply Form” is NOT THE APPLICATION FORM.
So, DON’T APPLY BY CLICKING “POST COMMENT” below, like I did. :)
I am very interested in participating in Ignite Ann Arbor to talk about hunger in Washtenaw County and what we can each do to address the issue. Since the “apply now” button isn’t working, I suspect that means that you have enough applicants for your November 13 event. Is there another Ignite Ann Arbor event scheduled for the foreseeable future? Many thanks.
