About

If you had five minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to show their answers.

Ignite was started in Seattle in 2006 by Brady Forrest and Bre Pettis.  Since then 100s of 5 minute talks have been given across the world.

The first Ignite in Ann Arbor was held in June 2009 at The Neutral Zone, and drew an audience of around 200. Ignite 2 was held at Blau Auditorium in November 2009 and drew an audience of around 400, including Dale Dougherty from Make Magazine who announced Maker Faire Detroit. Ignite 3 was held at Blau in March 2010, and drew an audience of around 400. Ignite 4 was being held at Blau on Oct 12 2010. Ignite continued at Blau for events 5-10.

In 2018, Ignite returned from a 3 year hiatus, holding Ignite 11 at the Ann Arbor District Library.

Ignite Ann Arbor is presented by A2Geeks.
